A self-adhesive tape made of durable polypropylene non-woven fabric with a single-sided acrylic adhesive coating. It is used to seal the cells of polycarbonate sheets. Thanks to its strong adhesive, the tape is sufficiently resistant to damage, even in outdoor environments. The tape also adapts well to most PC sheets under thermal stress or their linear thermal expansion.

Selection and installation

When purchasing the tape, you need to consider what tape width you will need. Of course, it is better to have a tape half a centimeter too wide than 1 mm too narrow. Below are general recommendations for choosing the tape according to the thickness of the polycarbonate sheet.

• Polycarbonate 4 mm - 28 mm wide tape
• Polycarbonate 6 mm - 28-38 mm wide tape
• Polycarbonate 8-10 mm - 38-60 mm wide tape

When applying, the surface of the sheet must be dry and free of grease. The tape, which has adhesive on one side, is then applied. Another advantage of the vent tape is that it makes it very easy to recognize where renewal will be needed over time.

Even correct use of mounting tapes cannot prevent condensation from forming in the sheet's cells. Polycarbonate allows water vapor to pass through the sheet's walls into the cells and vice versa. This is a natural physical phenomenon caused by the difference in humidity and temperature concentration between the interior and exterior sides. Once conditions stabilize, the condensation disappears again.
