The bag forms the basic element of a modular system for building retaining walls, fences, cascades, flood protection structures and other constructions.

Bag-type vegetated retaining systems consist of four basic and two supporting components.

The bag is made of a special non-woven fabric (composed of primary and recycled synthetic fibers) with an areal weight of 195 to 245 g/m2, which is strong and flexible. The material does not decompose in the ground (it is not biodegradable) and can withstand significant cuts or tearing without affecting the functionality of the vegetated retaining walls. The bags are resistant to weather conditions and UV radiation, and allow water and plant roots to pass through to the surface.

The product is supplied as a set that includes an empty bag (1pc), a tightening strap (1pc) for closing after filling, a connector (1pc) for linking two bags, and three anchoring pins used together with the connector to anchor the bags into the VOM® system.

To create a vegetated retaining wall system with an area of 1m2 you need 12 bag sets .

The colour of individual bags may vary slightly from one another, but this has no effect on their functional properties.

The bag is filled with various materials depending on the method of use or the type of vegetation being planted:

• dry soil
• gravel
• a mixture of soil and gravel in a ratio of 30:70
• topsoil
• a mixture of topsoil and substrate in a ratio of 70:30
• heavier garden substrate
• crushed stone with a grain size of 5 - 16 mm

To reinforce the VOM® system, a geo-mesh (plastic netting) is used, which is laid lengthwise along the entire length of the retaining wall directly on the bags or in the backfill on the rear side of the structure.

• Maximum load of the bag - 40 kg

The anchors belong to the VOM® system and are supplied in a set together with the bag, strap and connector. The anchoring pins are used to secure bags on top of each other and, together with the connector, next to each other. They are made of durable plastic that is resistant to chemical and organic substances in the soil. When installing in hard soil, coated metal pins are used. The purpose of the anchors is to reinforce the bags against shifting and to fix the geo-mesh, creating a solid retaining wall structure.

Connectors are used to link individual filled bags next to each other. They are made of durable plastic or coated metal, and have holes through which the anchors are threaded and fixed into the bag.
