The plastic geogrid is used to strengthen and reinforce vegetation retaining walls (VOM®) during construction. In the VOM® system, the mesh is laid on the rear side of the wall, which is formed by vegetation bags in the backfill.

It is laid lengthwise along the entire length of the retaining wall onto the bags or in the backfill on the rear side of the wall.

The geogrid for reinforcing the wall is placed after every 2 to 3 rows of bags, or as determined by the designer or structural engineer. The mesh strip, 1.3 m wide, must be cut to the length of the entire wall depending on the specific project. Laying proceeds from the edge of the bags towards the slope. In order to properly fix and stabilize the structure, the geogrid must be slightly tensioned. When overlapping individual strips, an overlap of at least 15 cm is recommended.

When building low walls, cascades, walls and retaining elevations up to 1 m in height, where there is no space to anchor the bags into the slope with a geogrid, a mesh strip approximately 25 cm wide is placed every second or third row. This strip is placed directly on the leveled and compacted bags under the connecting elements along the entire length of the structure.

The geogrid is sold in whole running meters! The stated price is per 1 running meter of mesh.
