Water hardness test - Titrant, drop tester for water softeners and measuring calcium and magnesium content
Code: PR_17127Product detailed description
This test kit is used for very precise measurement of total water hardness. With this measuring kit you can measure the calcium and magnesium content in water, i.e. the substances that cause limescale. The kit includes a bottle of solution for approx. 50 measurements and a measuring cup for 5 or 10 ml of the water sample. These water hardness test drops are especially suitable for determining the effectiveness of chemical water softeners. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Rinse the test tube with the water you are going to analyse. 2. Fill the test tube with water up to the 5 ml mark. 3. Add Titrant drop by drop, mixing well after each drop. Count the drops until the colour changes from red to green. In a 5 ml water sample, each drop corresponds to a value of 1°dH; in a 10 ml sample, each drop corresponds to 0.5°dH. Note: °dH - German degree of total hardness, where: 1°dH = 10 mg CaO/l = 7.2 mg MgO/l = 0.18 mmol/l = 1.7°F CaO - calcium oxide, MgO - magnesium oxide, mmol/l - sum of calcium and magnesium, °F - French degree of total hardness According to the Ministry of Health standard, water hardness in public water supplies must not exceed the limit of 5 mmol/l!Additional parameters
