HydroSoft COMFORT 1.8 Water Softener for Professional Use
The single-module HydroSoft COMFORT 1.8 water softener is used for central treatment of hard water.
Water softening runs smoothly thanks to the automatic HYS-1-Comfort control valve, which handles the entire regeneration process fully automatically without the need for maintenance supervision. The control valve usually performs regeneration at night after the set capacity has been used up.
The capacity, i.e. the volume of treated water, is monitored by a small water meter turbine at the outlet of the control valve.
A big advantage of the control valve is that it supplies raw water during regeneration, so in case of urgent need, the household or building never runs out of water. Another advantage is the raw water blending function (this can be set directly on the control valve). This function is used to keep a certain amount of calcium and magnesium in the water (hardness around 5 German degrees - 5 °dH).
Regarding operation, it is important to ensure that there is always enough salt in the brine tank, which is necessary for the regeneration process to run correctly.
The optimal size of the softening unit for households should be chosen based on capacity so that the unit performs regeneration once, or at most twice a week. In this case, the cost ratio in terms of the price of the chosen unit size and salt consumption is most optimal.

- Resin disinfection - Using the control valve, the disinfection unit is connected directly to enable disinfection of the resin filling (can be ordered separately). This disinfection unit uses free chlorine generated from the salt solution to disinfect the softening media during every regeneration. This process is standard in several European countries.
- Bypass valve - It is possible to order a bypass valve, which allows the device to be disconnected from the water system. This part can be useful in cases where it is necessary to move the device, for example when replacing the cation resin, painting walls behind the device, and similar situations.
