Detailed information

Product detailed description

The BMV-700 monitor is a new highly accurate battery status monitoring system.
Why monitor battery operating conditions? For longer battery life! Detailed battery monitoring allows us to detect possible operating deficiencies and ensure rapid correction to support long battery life.
Suitable for all types of lead batteries including AGM and gel batteries. Easy setting of battery capacity (factory setting to 200 Ah). Voltage autodetection of 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 120, 144 and 288 V. Regular automatic calibration of the device for reliable measured data reporting (can also be performed manually). The BMV 700H version is designed for systems with high operating voltage (70 - 350 V DC), the BMV702 version is designed to monitor two batteries or monitor battery temperature or xxx. The monitor is also suitable for Li-ion batteries.
Basic displayed values:
- current battery voltage (V)
- current current (A), flowing into (positive values - charging) or out of (negative values - discharging) the battery
- current power (W), flowing into (positive values - charging) or out of (negative values - discharging) the battery (product of voltage and current)
- total amount of energy drawn from the battery to power appliances in ampere-hours (Ah)
- current battery charge level in percent
- estimated (sophisticatedly calculated) time in hours until the battery reaches 50% discharge at the given power consumption
Technical parameters:
- supply voltage 6.5 - 95 V DC
- power consumption with backlight off and relay off: 4 mA (12 V) and 3 mA (24 V)
- power consumption with backlight off and relay on: 15 mA (12 V) and 8 mA (24 V)
- operating voltage: 12, 24 and 48 V (autodetection)
- maximum current through the shunt: -500 to +500 A (battery discharging and charging)
- maximum deviation for voltage reading ±0.01 A at voltage 0 – 100 V
- maximum deviation for current reading ±0.01 A with 500 A shunt
- maximum deviation for capacity reading ±0.1 Ah at battery capacities 0 – 100 Ah
- maximum deviation for capacity reading ±1 Ah at battery capacity 100 – 9999 Ah
- maximum deviation for charge status reading ±0.1%
- maximum deviation for remaining time estimate ±1 hour (in the range of 1-240 hours)
- maximum deviation for power reading ±1 W in the range from -100 W to 1 kW
- for total battery capacity 20 - 9999 Ah
- operating temperature range -20 to +50 °C
- round diameter of the monitor itself: 63 mm
- square size of the monitor's own cover: 69 x 69 mm
- depth of the monitor itself: 31 mm
- switched relay: 60V/1 A maximum
- weight of the monitor itself: 70 g
- weight of the shunt: 315 g
- shunt connection screws: M10
- material: plastic
The monitor stores selected historical data and achieved limit values:
- deepest battery discharge reached
- level of last battery discharge
- number of battery discharge/charge cycles completed
- average battery discharge value
- number of full battery discharges
- maximum battery voltage reached
- minimum battery voltage reached
- number of days since the last full battery charge
The BMV-700 monitor package includes:
- the monitor itself with a backlit digital display and controls
- plastic monitor cover with dimensions 69 x 69 mm
- 500A/50mV shunt designed for maximum current of 500 A (installed on the negative battery cable)
- 10 meter long communication and power UTP cable RJ12 (connecting the monitor itself with the shunt)
- 2 meter long installation cable with a fuse for connection to the positive cable.
The monitor performs sophisticated monitoring of supplied and drawn energy together with taking into account the adjustable value of the Peukert exponent (the higher the energy consumption, the relatively lower the amount of available energy in the battery and vice versa) and battery efficiency to estimate the current amount of energy (Ah) and battery charge level (in percent). For correct display of the amount of available energy in the battery, it is necessary that all energy entering and leaving the battery passes through the shunt.
The monitor itself can be integrated into a wall without the need for rear access (covered with screws).
For currents higher than 500 A, a replacement shunt designed for currents of 1000 and 2000 A can be supplied. Shunts up to a maximum current of 9,999 A with a voltage range of 1 - 100 mV can be used with the monitor (both adjustable).
The monitor has a switched relay. This is activated/deactivated based on the measured battery charge level. The factory setting is switching on when the battery charge level drops below 50% and switching off when the charge level reaches 90%. These values can be changed in the settings. It is also possible to reverse the switching logic, so that the relay is normally on, and off in non-standard mode. The relay can be used to switch on/off devices such as an external alarm, generator, etc.
The monitor can be used to power other devices. Possibility of connecting the monitor with the large color Color Control GX display. To connect the BMV700 monitor with the Color Control GX display, either a VE.Direct cable or a VE.Direct-USB communication interface must be purchased.
Saved settings and measured historical and limit data remain stored even when the monitor's power supply is interrupted.
Visual and audible alarm for over- or under-voltage, when the battery is charged or discharged.
Possibility to switch an additional power source, such as a generator, via the relay under defined conditions.
