Frequently asked questions
- How do I choose the right output for a bathroom ladder radiator? As a rough guide, allow approx. 100 W per m² of bathroom floor area at a standard ceiling height and insulation level; if the radiator is the only heat source in the room, choose the higher end of this range.
- What is the difference between a water, electric and combined (dual) radiator? A water (hydronic) radiator is connected to the house's heating system (boiler) and only works while the heating is running; an electric radiator has its own heating element/element rod and works independently of the heating (useful e.g. outside the heating season); a combined (dual) radiator allows both - in winter it is heated by the boiler, in summer or outside the season it runs independently on electricity.
- Do I also need a thermostat for an electric radiator? A thermostat is not always included with the heating element/rod - if it isn't, we recommend buying one separately, as it lets you regulate the temperature and save electricity instead of always running at full power.
- Must installation be carried out by a professional? Hanging the radiator on the wall can be done by a competent DIYer; connecting it to the water heating circuit (for water and combined models) should be left to a heating engineer/plumber.
