Distance from the floor and ceiling

There are several reasons: protection against water when cleaning the floor, enough space for hanging towels that would otherwise hang on the tiles, and also safety (a wet towel on the floor is a slippery trap). The top rod, on the other hand, should be at a height where you can comfortably reach it – ideally around 170–180 cm from the floor.

According to the standard ČSN 33 2000-7-701 (also valid for Slovakia), electrical equipment in the bathroom must be installed outside the so-called protective zones.
