How the HydroSoft softener works – water softening
- Water softening – the HydroSoft ECONOMY Maxi softening device uses ion exchange to remove water hardness during softening. During softening, the resin removes calcium and magnesium ions from the water and replaces them with sodium ions. During regeneration, the exact opposite effect occurs, the resin releases the calcium and magnesium ions and is recharged with sodium.
- Regeneration – the regeneration process with brine solution takes place fully automatically via the control head, based on the volume of water consumed. Salt must always be refilled into the salt compartment. This compartment can be completely filled – only the required amount of salt will always dissolve, forming the brine solution used to regenerate the resin.
