How the HydroSoft water softener works – water softening
- Water softening – the HydroSoft ECONOMY Midi softening device uses ion exchange to remove water hardness. During water softening, the resin removes calcium and magnesium ions from the water and replaces them with sodium ions. During regeneration, the exact opposite effect occurs, the resin releases calcium and magnesium ions and is replenished with sodium.
- Regeneration – the regeneration process with the brine solution takes place fully automatically via the control head, based on the volume of water consumed. Salt must always be refilled into the salt compartment. This compartment can be completely filled – only the necessary amount of salt will dissolve, forming the brine solution needed to regenerate the resin.
