Knowledge Center
Knowledge centre for Buderus condensing boilers with instantaneous DHW heating – the difference between Logamax plus GB122 and GB172i.2.
Logamax plus GB122 vs. GB172i.2
Buderus offers condensing boilers with instantaneous hot water heating in two generations of the Logamax plus range:
- Logamax plus GB122-24i K – a proven range, 24 kW output, also available in a package with the Logafix 3/4" magnetic sludge separator (protects the heat exchanger and circulation pump from deposits in the heating circuit).
- Logamax plus GB172i.2-24 K – a newer generation (the "i.2" designation means improved electronics and control compared to the older GB122 range), the same 24 kW output, also available with the Logafix magnetic sludge separator.
Which model to choose
If the latest generation of electronics is not decisive for you, the GB122-24i K is a proven and reliable choice. If you prefer the most up-to-date technology from Buderus, choose the GB172i.2-24 K. In both cases, we recommend adding the Logafix magnetic sludge separator – especially in older heating systems, it significantly extends the lifespan of the heat exchanger.
