Laddomat 22 with the economical Wilo Yonos Para 7.5 m pump; including an insulation set, designed for boilers with an output of 15 to 100 kW. Thanks to its design, the Laddomat 22 replaces a classic assembly made of individual components. It consists of a cast-iron body, a thermoregulatory valve, a pump, a check valve, ball valves, and thermometers. At a boiler water temperature of 78°C, the thermoregulatory valve opens the supply from the tank. Wiring with a Laddomat 22 is considerably simpler, and we can therefore only recommend it. A replacement thermo-cartridge for 72°C is supplied with the Laddomat 22 fitting. Use it for boilers over 32 kW.

• How do I choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Base your choice on the calculated heat loss of the building being heated. With wood/coal boilers, however, also bear in mind that the boiler burns for several hours at essentially constant output during a single fill - which is why it is common practice to add a buffer (accumulation) tank to the boiler, which stores surplus heat for later use instead of forcing the boiler to run inefficiently damped down.
• What else do I need to install this boiler? Besides the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a buffer (accumulation) tank of appropriate volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or thermoregulatory valve protecting the boiler against low-temperature corrosion), a safety valve, an expansion vessel, and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught corresponding to the boiler's output - you will find the exact draught values in the technical parameters above.
• What fuel is suitable, and what isn't? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (typically split logs of a defined length and moisture content, or possibly lignite briquettes or coal, depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or overly wet fuel reduces efficiency, increases tar and deposit build-up, and can damage the boiler.
• What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before the boiler is put into operation, and regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), a chimney inspection/cleaning by an authorised chimney sweep is legally required - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire could also be disputed.
• How much maintenance does the boiler require? This typically includes regularly removing ash and cleaning the heat exchange surfaces/flue gas passages of soot (the interval depends on intensity of use, usually on the order of weeks), plus a thorough annual inspection including seals and the chimney.
• Can I install the boiler myself? The positioning and connection of the boiler to the heating system, chimney, and safety components should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - this is an appliance with an open flame, high temperatures, and pressurised components, where a connection error can be a safety risk.
