PolyHMG disinfectant contains no added chlorine, alcohol, aldehyde, phenol, lye, formaldehyde or heavy metals, and has a balanced pH. It eliminates all types of bacteria, viruses, algae and fungi, and is recommended for use in new wells before a water analysis. Applying PolyWELL disinfectant helps the water source regenerate and clean itself. It is also suitable as a preventive measure, as the clumping of bacteria helps keep the water clean and of good quality over the long term. HOW DOES POLY PIPE & WELL 3l DISINFECTANT WORK? PolyHMG, with its antimicrobial properties, is a compound of an alkyl group with a guanidine-based copolymer. PolyHMG owes its bactericidal function mainly to the ability of its functional guanidine groups to form bonds with the cell membrane of pathogenic microbes. After binding, the functional guanidine group penetrates the cell's cytoplasm and suppresses its regulatory function. By disrupting it, the cell becomes unable to function as it needs to and eventually dies. Description of the cell destruction process: - Penetration of the PolyHMG biocide molecule through the microbe's cell membrane. - Dispersal of the absorbed PolyHMG molecules throughout the entire cell wall. - Disruption and destruction of the cytoplasmic cell membrane. - The cell contents leak into the intercellular space through the destabilised cell membrane. - Cell death occurs. All effects are directed against viruses, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi and protozoa. On the other hand, PolyHMG does not damage the cells of larger organisms (i.e. human and animal cells) due to their different molecular structure and biochemical properties (for example, our cells contain cholesterol, which helps stabilise our cell membrane) and the different nature of our cytoplasm and cell nucleus. PolyHMG products belong to the class of safe substances with low toxicity if swallowed or in contact with skin. PolyHMG belongs to the lowest, class III, of allergenic activity, i.e. it does not cause any allergies.
