Frequently Asked Questions
- What does a pump solar unit do? It ensures the circulation of heat transfer fluid between the collector and the storage tank, containing a pump, shut-off and safety elements, and measuring instruments (thermometer, flow meter) in one compact block.
- Is a separate controller needed, or is the unit sufficient without one? A unit without a controller requires a separate controller (e.g. IVAR.SOLAR ILTDC/ISTDC/IMTDC), which controls the pump switching according to the temperature difference between the collector and the storage tank.
- What is the difference between the ILTDC, ISTDC and IMTDC controllers? They differ in the number of controlled circuits and the range of functions (e.g. control of one or several storage tanks, additional functions such as pool heating); the specific range of functions is stated for each model.
- What is the sensor on the pipe/in the well used for? It measures the temperature of the heat transfer fluid in the collector or storage tank and sends a signal to the controller, which switches the pump accordingly.
