The non-pressurised three-way mixer tap is designed specifically for non-pressurised (open-outlet) instantaneous water heaters - unlike a standard pressurised mixer tap, it simultaneously controls the supply of both cold water and heated water from the heater, so it must not be combined with a pressurised (closed) heater or any other pressurised mixer tap.

Frequently asked questions

• What output should I choose for an instantaneous water heater? A higher electrical output allows a higher hot water flow rate for a given temperature rise (the difference between the cold water temperature and the desired hot water temperature) - for example, an 18-21 kW heater is usually enough for a single shower, while a 24-27 kW unit comfortably handles a slightly higher flow rate or colder inlet water in winter.
• Can my electrical installation handle this output? Heaters with an output above roughly 11 kW usually require a three-phase 400 V connection and an appropriately sized circuit breaker (typically 3x 25 A or more for higher outputs) - before buying, we recommend checking the capacity of your home's electrical installation, ideally with an electrician.
• Can I install this Q-TERMO heater myself? Connecting it to the water pipework is not technically unmanageable on its own, but connecting it to the electrical mains (especially for outputs above 3.5 kW, where it is usually a fixed connection rather than a socket) must be carried out by a person with electrical qualifications.
• What is the difference between a pressurised and a non-pressurised (open-outlet) design? A pressurised heater is connected to the normal pressurised water piping and can supply several outlets in a flat/house at the same time through the piping. A non-pressurised (open) heater works with only one outlet specifically assigned to it and a special non-pressurised (three-way) mixer tap - these two systems cannot be combined with each other, nor can their accessories be interchanged.
• How long does it take for hot water to start flowing? With instantaneous heating, the water is heated continuously as it flows through the heater - hot water is therefore available practically immediately after opening the tap (once the cold water already in the pipe has been pushed out); unlike storage water heaters, there is no need to wait for a larger volume of water to be pre-heated.
