Avansa 2007 TX - programmable weekly wireless thermostat
The wireless thermostat Avansa 2007 TX is suitable for controlling most boilers. The thermostat can be connected to any gas boiler equipped with a two-wire room thermostat connection. The device can also be connected to an air conditioning unit regardless of whether the unit operates at 24V or 230V. The device can be programmed according to your needs so that the heating (cooling) system starts at the time and to the temperature you require. Besides ensuring comfort, it also helps reduce energy costs. You can set 6 different thermostat on-times (in 10-minute increments) for each day, with a freely adjustable temperature (in 0.5°C increments) for each of the six on-times. The device consists of two units: one portable control unit (the thermostat) and one receiver unit, which is used to control the boiler. The connection between the thermostat and the receiver is made via radio frequency waves, so there is no need to run wiring between the thermostat and the boiler. Both units are factory pre-set to operate on the same frequency. The thermostat and receiver each have their own security code. For this reason, unknown external radio frequency signals cannot disrupt the safe operation of the device.
The portability of the thermostat has the following advantages:
- there is no need to run wiring, which is especially advantageous when renovating old buildings,
- the optimal location for the thermostat can be chosen while in use,
- using the thermostat is also suitable in cases where you want to use the device in different rooms at different times of the day
The sensor built into the thermostat has a range of approx. 50 m in open space. This distance can be significantly reduced within a building, especially where iron structures or reinforced concrete walls come between the radio waves. The selectable switching sensitivity is ± 0.2 °C (the manufacturer's recommended basic setting for radiator heating) or +0/-0.2 °C (recommended setting for underfloor heating). These values refer to the temperature difference between the set temperature and the actually measured room temperature at the moment the thermostat switches on. For example, with the manufacturer's basic setting of 20 °C, the device switches the boiler on when the temperature reaches 19.8 °C or lower, and switches the boiler off when it reaches 20.2 °C or higher. If needed, the thermostat can also be extended with an Avansa TX socket, which allows you (without any installation work) to control any electrical device with an operating voltage of 230V (e.g. boiler, pump, heat radiator..). The thermostat is equipped with a pump protection function. This function is used to prevent the pump from seizing up. The device switches the boiler on every day at 12:00 for one minute, if the boiler has not been switched on according to the program for more than 24 hours. If, for any reason (e.g. a power outage), the power supply to the receiver is interrupted, boiler operation is also suspended.

- How exactly should I choose the output of a AVANSA condensing boiler? The basis is the calculated heat loss of the heated building (most reliably from project documentation or an energy certificate). If you don't have a project, you can roughly estimate about 60-100 W per m² of floor area for a commonly insulated house built after 2000, or 100-150 W/m² for an older, non-insulated house - the exact figure varies depending on the number of floors, ceiling height, the number and quality of windows, and the building's orientation. An oversized boiler switches on and off more frequently (so-called cycling), which shortens its lifespan and reduces efficiency; an undersized boiler, on the other hand, cannot sufficiently heat the house on freezing days.
- Why is a condensing boiler more efficient than a conventional one? A condensing boiler additionally uses the heat hidden in the water vapor produced when burning gas - in a conventional boiler this escapes unused through the chimney, while in a condensing boiler it is cooled below the so-called dew point, the vapor condenses, and the released heat is returned to the heating circuit. Thanks to this, condensing boilers achieve an efficiency of approximately 105-110% relative to the calorific value of the gas, compared to the usual 85-92% for conventional boilers.
- What type of flue gas exhaust does this boiler need? Most modern condensing boilers are so-called turbo units (with a sealed combustion chamber) and require a concentric or separate flue gas exhaust and combustion air supply routed through an exterior wall or roof - so a functional chimney is not required. - What does the ErP energy class stated for the boiler mean? This is a mandatory efficiency label for heating appliances under the EU ErP (Ecodesign) directive, similar to the energy labels on refrigerators. Condensing boilers commonly achieve class A, or even higher in combination with room controls (e.g. A+ when using weather-compensated control and a room thermostat).
- Can I install and connect this boiler myself? No. Connection to the natural gas supply, electrical network and flue gas exhaust is by law reserved exclusively for a person with the relevant authorization (most often an authorized service technician of the given brand or a gas appliance inspection technician). After installation, the boiler must be commissioned by the manufacturer's authorized service, which is usually also a condition for the warranty to be valid.
- What about service and warranty? Most manufacturers require a regular annual service inspection by an authorized service provider in order to keep the warranty valid even after its standard expiry (extended warranty with regular servicing is common especially for brands such as Vaillant, Protherm, Viessmann).
