Farsight - Nest knows when you've arrived
One of the features of the 3rd generation Nest thermostat is automatic temperature display. This feature is called Farsight, and it means the display automatically lights up to show you the set temperature or the time. In addition, the new generation has an even more sensitive and powerful motion sensor, so it knows when you've left even if it isn't placed near the front door. Of course, the display doesn't stay lit all the time, so it won't disturb you while you're watching TV.
Nest also controls underfloor heating
The Nest thermostat has a built-in True Radiant function, thanks to which it automatically activates for underfloor heating systems. This ensures comfort without using extra energy and displays the predicted temperature according to the schedule. Nest learns how long it takes to heat up the room once the heating starts, so you don't need to worry about it not being warm yet when you get up or come home.

- How exactly does a manual (simple) thermostat work? It measures the temperature at its installation location, and when it drops below the set value, it closes a contact that switches on the heat source (boiler, pump, radiator) – once the set temperature is reached, the contact opens again. Unlike programmable thermostats, it has no weekly or daily schedule – the temperature is set manually using a rotary or sliding control.
- Where should the thermostat be placed? In a location that best represents the typical room temperature – away from direct sunlight, drafts, radiators, or other heat/cold sources that could distort the reading.
- Must installation be done by an electrician? Connecting the thermostat to the heating source's electrical circuit should be carried out by a person with electrical qualifications, since it involves work on the wiring and load switching.

Dobry den. Zvazujem tento termostat ku kotlu Immergas Victrix Zeus 26 ERP. Mam podlahove kurenie. Predpokladam, ze Nest bude fungovat ako ON/OFF termostat. Chcem sa ale spytat, ci by nevedel vyuzit OpenTherm protokol Immergas-u pre plynule nastavenie teploty vody v kureni. Viem ze k tomuto kotlu je idealny termostat super car, len mi vadi, ze nema ziadne extra funkcie a vyzera akoby mal 15 rokov.
