Why do I need a kitchen water filter?

A kitchen water filter is a filtration system used in households to filter water that is used both as drinking water and for cooking. Since the kitchen is the place where the largest amount of drinking water in a household is consumed, it is essential to have a water filter located in the kitchen. Whether connected to the sink tap or handled by a separate circuit, as is the case with under-sink filters.

How do kitchen filters work?

Kitchen filters play a major role in ensuring your household has clean, high-quality and health-safe water. They are designed to remove contaminants that may often be present in the water supplying your household, whether it comes from the public water supply or your own well.

  • Sediments such as sand, gravel, mud and many other contaminants that get into the water during distribution to your home, or directly in the water if you use your own well.
  • Chemical substances (a good example being chlorine), which are used to disinfect water supplied by the water company.
  • Bacteria, fungi, algae and other microorganisms, which are very dangerous water contaminants and can cause serious digestive and other health problems if the contaminated water is consumed.

All of the above-mentioned contaminants cannot be removed by a single filter. For this reason, most consumers prefer to install devices with multi-stage filtration. These filtration systems are designed modularly to meet the various needs of consumers while achieving maximum drinking water quality.

What types of kitchen filters do we offer?

There are many types of kitchen filters and filtration systems, and many approaches consumers take when deciding which system to choose. In our range, we have focused on satisfying the needs of the widest possible group of consumers with different needs and options.

  • Under-sink filters and filtration systems are the most sought-after types of filters and filtration systems. They save space on the kitchen counter and have a higher water filtration capacity. They are the best choice for households that use a lot of filtered water.
    • Sediment filter cartridges remove mechanical impurities, sand, rust and sludge from the water. The filter's efficiency is increased by the enlarged surface area of the sediment cartridges.
    • A filter cartridge with pressed activated carbon, KDF media and polypropylene removes up to 99% of harmful free chlorine, organic substances, herbicides and pesticides, heavy metals (arsenic, cadmium, lead...), phenol and benzene from the water. It removes unpleasant odor from the water and improves its taste.
    • A two-stage cartridge softens the water and removes iron.
    • A UV lamp naturally removes up to 99.98 percent of bacteria and viruses from the water.
    • Depending on the customer's needs and the type of water contamination, it is possible to use any combination of mechanical, carbon or special filter cartridges.
  • Reverse osmosis filtration systems with hyperfiltration, provided by a reverse osmosis membrane as one of the five filtration stages.
    • Reverse osmosis (RO), also known as hyperfiltration, is the finest known method of water filtration. This process allows particles as small as ions to be removed from the water. RO works on the principle of a semi-permeable membrane, whose pores are only 0.0001 µm in size. The membrane lets water molecules through but does not let various admixtures and impurities pass. Only a certain amount of water passes through the membrane, while the remaining water washes the membrane's surface and carries contaminants away to waste. This ensures continuous self-cleaning of the membrane, which is thus protected against clogging. The reverse osmosis process requires a certain pressure to push water molecules through the osmotic membrane. Special low-pressure membranes have been developed for drinking water purposes, for which the standard pressure in the water supply network of 2.8 ÷ 6 bar is sufficient. The result is very clean and extremely soft water, similar to distilled water.
