IVAR temperature sensors are used to precisely measure the temperature in the controlled space or directly on the pipework and transmit the measured value to the controller or thermostat. The range includes room sensors with an NTC resistive element (4.7 kOhm as well as 100 kOhm at 25 °C) and room sensors with a longer supply cable for installation away from the controller.

The choice of sensor type depends on the wiring of the control system – some controllers require a specific NTC element resistance value, so when choosing a replacement sensor it is important to check compatibility with the original controller or the ALC/ALP distribution box.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between a 4.7 kOhm and a 100 kOhm sensor? It is the resistance value of the NTC element at 25 °C – the controller is designed for a specific value, so sensors cannot be interchanged without adjusting the control settings.
  • Is a room temperature sensor suitable for humid environments? The standard room sensor is intended for indoor use without direct contact with water; for damp areas a sensor with a higher protection rating should be used.
  • What is the length of the supply cable of the room temperature sensor? The commonly supplied sensor has a 15 m cable, which allows the sensor to be placed in a different room from the distribution box.
