MPPT controller module for solar systems 9–24V with Li-Ion, Li-Pol, Ni-MH or Pb batteries with max. charging current of 5A. The MPPT controller contains a converter that adjusts the V-A characteristic of the power source (solar panel, wind turbine, etc.) to the level most suitable for charging the connected battery. This achieves the lowest losses and the best utilization of energy from the source. When using a 12V lead battery, it is possible to connect a PV panel with power up to 60W.

Settings:
1) On the controller, set the "MPPT" trimmer to the extreme clockwise position and the "charge" trimmer to the extreme counterclockwise position.
2) Connect a solar panel (ensure standard light conditions) or a substitute source with the voltage generated by the PV panel (18V for panels with a 12V system voltage) and turn the MPPT trimmer counterclockwise until voltage appears at the output (the LED will start blinking blue)
3) Connect an uncharged battery via an A-meter and turn the "charge" trimmer clockwise to the position at which current starts flowing into the battery. The LED will start blinking red.
4) Use the MPPT trimmer to set the point at which the highest current flows into the battery. This step must be performed with the solar panel that will be used in the system illuminated, in order to create real working conditions.
5) Now connect a fully charged battery and turn the "charge" trimmer counterclockwise until the charging current is interrupted. This ensures protection against overcharging.
