The Veelman DHW solar tank type VSTS400L2 is made of stainless steel in accordance with EU Directive No. 97/23/EC, and its high insulating capacity is achieved with a 50 mm thick layer of polyurethane foam insulation.

Veelman solar tanks, with the exception of the VSTS150L1 type, are fitted with two coils each, which serve as heat exchangers, the lower one for the solar collector and the upper one for connecting a secondary heat source, e.g. a central heating boiler for gas, solid fuel, coal, biomass, etc. Each tank is fitted with two sockets for temperature sensors in the upper and lower part of the tank. The tanks also have a conveniently accessible inspection opening with a diameter of 120 mm and a 1½" socket for installing an electric coil with an output of 3 kW. The tanks are equipped with a 1" cold water inlet, a 1" hot water outlet, an inlet and outlet for additional circulation, a safety valve and a drain for emptying the tank. Veelman solar tanks are designed so that connecting the fittings to the tank takes up minimal space in the installation area and so that they can be connected in series. Veelman’s designers have provided a range of tank colours, allowing an attractive and elegant installation in both new and existing spaces.
