Wall-hung gas condensing boiler Vitodens 111-W is ideally suited for apartments or family houses. It can easily be wall-mounted in the corners of bathrooms or utility rooms. The Vitodens 111-W will also find its place above a kitchen counter, washing machine, or dryer. For anyone who values durability and a long service life, only high-grade stainless steel comes into consideration as a material. That is why the Vitodens 111-W boiler is also equipped with the Inox-Radial heating surface made of high-grade stainless steel, which offers the necessary reliability and guarantees a permanently high degree of combustion heat utilisation.

MatriX-Plus burner

The MatriX-Plus burner scores points above all for its efficient operation and low pollutant and noise emissions. The special MatriX high-grade stainless steel surface is resistant to high temperatures and ensures reliable output and a long service life.

Lambda Pro

Another technical innovation from Viessmann is the fully automatic Lambda Pro combustion control. It automatically adapts to all types of gas and every flue gas system. This ensures clean and efficient combustion. It also includes automatic adaptation of the flue gas exhaust.

 

Inox-Radial stainless steel heat exchanger: Efficient with a long service life

The difference always lies in the stainless steel. The corrosion-resistant Inox-Radial high-grade stainless steel heat exchanger is at the heart of the Vitodens 111-W units. SIMPLE OPERATION

3.5-inch 7-segment display with touch control of the new electronic platform is characterised by very simple and clear operation and an understated design in the Blackpanel finish. It allows heating systems with a direct and/or mixed heating circuit to be set very comfortably.

ViCare APP

Wall-hung gas condensing Vitodens boilers with the new electronic platform have an integrated WiFi interface. This allows a direct internet connection whenever needed. Through the ViCare app, operating the heating system is completely simple and intuitive. It creates a connection to the digital service and is in direct contact with your local specialist partner.

 

ViCare uses the GPS function of your mobile phone on request and thus detects the distance from the heating appliance. If the set distance is exceeded, the room temperature is automatically lowered. You can also extend the system with a ViCare thermostat and enjoy even greater comfort and efficiency.

 

The app offers the following functions:

 

●  You have an overview of the state of the whole system in real time.

 

●  With the swipe of a finger you can set the required room temperature.

 

●  You can set the required hot water temperature.

 

●  Using the heating time assistant, you can set switching times for heating and hot water in just a few steps.

 

●  Display of the current outdoor temperature.

 

●  Display of the temperature history for the last few days.

 

The ViCare app gives you an overview of the current operating status of the heating system. This gives you security and makes everything more predictable for you. Thanks to this, you can program different switching times for each day according to your needs. 

 

In addition, the app lets you choose normal or party mode. Party mode can extend the heating time when you have a longer party with guests and want to keep the warmth going for longer. A quick-select energy-saving mode is also available. It lowers the temperature when you are away from home. Not to mention one-off hot water charging, if you want to take a long bath. 

 

Normal and party mode are available to users with both Android and Apple devices. Please note that the controller of your heating system must support this function. 

 

Current appliance status and a direct connection with an experienced specialist 

 

In addition, the ViCare app offers automatic messages with a current description of your appliance's status. This way you can identify in time whether there is a problem or whether everything is fine. Similarly, through the ViCare app you have a direct line to your specialist partner as soon as a message appears on the heating appliance.  

 

Possible error messages are easy to recognise. Because the ViCare app works through a traffic-light system: 

 

● Green: Everything is fine.

 

● Yellow: Maintenance is required.

 

● Red: A problem has occurred.

 

If the field is red, the contact details of a specialist partner are automatically displayed. For this function it is enough to select the details of your chosen specialist partner and save them in the app. Another option is to connect a specialist partner directly to the heating system. This requires service authorisation. You can do this with just two clicks. This allows the specialist partner to detect faults in time and, where possible, even repair them remotely, or come to you with the correct spare parts. 

 

Installing the ViCare app

 

Installing the ViCare app is simpler than you think. 

 

 

The following prerequisites apply:

●  An internet connection (a data plan independent of time and volume limits).

●  Smartphones with the Apple iOS or Google Android operating system (the current version needs to be downloaded from the relevant store).

●  Viessmann Vitoconnect 100 internet interface, type OPTO 1.

●  Viessmann gas appliances installed from 2004, heat pumps installed from 2010, and solid-fuel heating appliances installed from 2016. You can obtain precise compatibility information from your authorised specialist partner. 

 

Once the ViCare system has been installed and released, the specialist partner of your choice will be able to monitor your system using the Vitoguide app.

Frequently asked questions

• How exactly do I choose the right output for a Viessmann condensing boiler? The starting point is the calculated heat loss of the heated building (most reliably taken from the project documentation or an energy certificate). If you don't have a project, you can estimate roughly 60-100 W per m² of floor area for a normally insulated house built after 2000, or 100-150 W/m² for an older, uninsulated house - the exact figure varies depending on the number of floors, ceiling height, the number and quality of windows, and the building's orientation. A boiler oversized for the output switches on and off more often (so-called cycling), which shortens its lifespan and reduces efficiency; an undersized boiler, on the other hand, cannot heat the house sufficiently on freezing days.

This particular Viessmann model is supplied in the output range of 3.2 - 19 kW. For a boiler with output modulation, always choose based on the highest demand (the coldest days of the year), since the boiler can regulate its output downward on its own.

• Why is a condensing boiler more economical than a conventional one? A condensing boiler also makes use of the heat hidden in the water vapour produced when gas is burned - in a conventional boiler this escapes unused through the flue, whereas in a condensing boiler it is cooled below the so-called dew point, the vapour condenses, and the released heat is returned to the heating circuit. Thanks to this, condensing boilers reach an efficiency of approximately 105-110% relative to the calorific value of the gas, compared with the usual 85-92% for conventional boilers.
• What type of flue gas exhaust does this boiler need? Most modern condensing boilers are so-called "turbo" units (with a sealed combustion chamber) and require a coaxial (concentric) or split flue-gas exhaust and combustion air intake duct, routed through an external wall or the roof - so a functioning chimney is not required. • What does the ErP energy class shown for the boiler mean? This is the mandatory efficiency label for heating appliances under the EU ErP (Ecodesign) directive, similar to the energy labels used for refrigerators. Condensing boilers commonly reach class A, or higher in combination with room controls (e.g. A+ when using weather-compensated control together with a room thermostat).
• Can I install and connect this boiler myself? No. Connecting to the natural gas supply, the electrical network, and the flue gas exhaust is by law reserved exclusively for a person with the relevant authorisation (most often an authorised service technician of the given brand, or a certified gas appliance inspector). After installation, the boiler must be commissioned by the manufacturer's authorised service, which is also usually a condition for the warranty to be valid.
• What about servicing and the warranty?
