The system contains an electric heat source with heating circuit control, a pump and an expansion tank. Two power levels are available, 8 kW and 24 kW. The Vitotron 100 is available in two versions: one with weather-compensated control or as a constant-temperature control.
Using solid fuels is currently the cheapest option, but it is not convenient. With a fireplace or a solid-fuel boiler, you must not forget to regularly add fuel and clean the appliances. Another disadvantage in terms of comfort is that the boiler room cannot be left unattended, and during a longer absence, such as a holiday, there is a risk of the system freezing.
These problems disappear when using an electric boiler, which supports heating when, for various reasons, it is not possible to top up fuel. It switches on fully automatically only when, for example, the fire in the fireplace goes out in the morning. When nobody is home, it will maintain only the temperature needed to prevent freezing.
Comfortable operation and easy installation
Installing the Vitotron 100 boiler is inexpensive and does not require a gas connection, a chimney, a boiler room or fuel storage space - all you need is an electricity connection. Using the weather-compensated control (type VMN3) ensures high thermal comfort and maintenance-free operation, which, combined with a boiler efficiency of 99.4%, ensures energy-efficient operation.
Trouble-free cooperation
Electric boilers are also often used to support the heating of buildings where the primary heat source is, for example, a heat pump, a fireplace or a solid-fuel boiler. In this way they combine the use of renewable sources with ease of use and keep the temperature above freezing when users are not at home. These are small appliances with a neat design that can be installed practically anywhere.
When used with suitable modules, the boilers can work together with the heating system's storage tank. Storing heat during low-tariff periods reduces heating costs.
The Vitotron 100 can work with any heating system and domestic hot water storage tank. It is equipped with a 5 l expansion tank and the necessary safety fittings. When working together with a domestic hot water storage tank, the water temperature can be regulated and the circulation pump controlled according to daily or weekly settings.
