ATMOS DC 20 GS
Code: DC20GSProduct detailed description
- 20kW ecological wood gasification boiler – GENERATOR with ceramic lining, extraction fan and a cooling loop
– the Generator type is characterised by a special firebox lined on both sides with ceramic shaped blocks, fitted in the lower part with openings for the supply of preheated primary air, a gasification nozzle with openings for the supply of secondary air, and a lower combustion chamber with a spherical ceramic space. It is designed for burning wood on the principle of generator gasification using an extraction fan (S), which draws the flue gases out of the boiler.
The boiler body is manufactured as a welded structure from high-quality steel sheets 3 to 8 mm thick. It consists of a fuel hopper (6 mm), which is fitted in its lower part with a gasification nozzle with a longitudinal opening for the passage of flue gases and gases. The afterburning chamber below it is fitted with ceramic shaped blocks for ideal burnout of all combustible substances with high efficiency during ecologically friendly combustion. In the rear part of the boiler body there is a vertical flue gas duct, fitted at the top with a starting damper. The upper part of the flue gas duct is fitted with a flue outlet for connection to the chimney.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How to choose the right output for a solid fuel boiler? Base your choice on the calculated heat loss of the heated building; however, for wood/coal boilers also consider that the boiler burns for several hours during a single filling at essentially constant output - it is therefore common practice to supplement the boiler with a buffer tank, which stores excess heat for later use instead of the boiler having to be inefficiently throttled down.
- What is a gasification boiler and how does it differ from a classic one? A gasification boiler burns wood in two stages - first, in the upper chamber, heat releases a combustible gas (wood gas), which is then burned out together with supplied secondary air at a high temperature in the lower combustion chamber. The result is significantly higher efficiency and cleaner combustion (less tar and soot) compared to classic single-stage combustion in older boilers.
- What else do I need for installing this boiler? In addition to the boiler itself, the system usually requires: a buffer (equalisation) tank of appropriate volume, a circulation pump (often already with a built-in Laddomat or thermoregulatory valve against low-temperature corrosion of the boiler), a safety valve, an expansion vessel and a flue/chimney with sufficient draught corresponding to the boiler output - exact draught values can be found in the technical parameters above.
- What fuel is suitable and what is not? Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer for the given model (typically split wood logs of a defined length and moisture content, or brown coal briquettes or coal depending on the boiler type) - unsuitable or too moist fuel reduces efficiency, increases tar and deposit formation, and can damage the boiler.
- What about chimney inspection and legislation? Before putting the boiler into operation, as well as regularly during its use (usually once a year for solid fuels), a chimney inspection/cleaning by an authorised chimney sweep is required by law - without the relevant inspection certificate, an insurance claim in the event of a fire may also be disputed.
- How much maintenance does the boiler require? This normally includes regular ash removal and cleaning of the heating surfaces/flue gas paths from soot (interval depending on intensity of use, usually every few weeks), and a thorough annual inspection including seals and the chimney.
- Can I install the boiler myself? The actual placement and connection of the boiler to the heating system, chimney and safety components should be carried out, or at least professionally checked, by a heating technician - this is a device with an open flame, high temperatures and pressurised components, where an installation error can pose a safety risk.
