EasyControl registers when you are at home and automatically adapts the heating to your daily routine, without you having to do anything. This way, the heating is only on when you actually need it. Saving energy can be this simple!

 

Individual room control

21 °C in the living room, 24 °C in the bathroom and 18 °C in the bedroom - with the EasyControl controller you can control them effortlessly. Simply enter the desired temperature for each room and that's it. The only additional technology required is the intelligent Bosch radiator thermostat (Smart TRV).

 

Individual room control for underfloor heating is not yet supported.

EasyControl saves you money not only on heating, but also on heating hot water.

It offers three options:

• On: hot water is available at any time
• Automatic: water is heated according to a time programme

Backlight

The EasyControl controller communicates with you not only via the app, but also through its backlight. As soon as you send a command to the heating system to increase the temperature, it lights up orange for one second, or blue if you are lowering the temperature. If you leave home, the backlight turns green, signalling that the heating has automatically switched to "away" mode. A red backlight signals a fault in the heating system. If everything is working as it should, the backlight remains off.

Frequently asked questions

• How do I choose the right output for a BOSCH condensing boiler? The key figure is the calculated heat loss of the building being heated (most reliably taken from project documentation or an energy certificate). If you don't have a project, a rough estimate is about 60-100 W per m² of floor area for a normally insulated house built after 2000, or 100-150 W/m² for an older, uninsulated house - the exact figure varies depending on the number of floors, ceiling height, the number and quality of windows, and the building's orientation. An oversized boiler tends to switch on and off more often (so-called cycling), which shortens its service life and reduces efficiency; an undersized boiler, on the other hand, cannot keep the house sufficiently warm on frosty days.
• Why is a condensing boiler more economical than a conventional one? A condensing boiler additionally makes use of the heat hidden in the water vapour produced when gas is burned - in a conventional boiler this vapour escapes unused through the flue, while in a condensing boiler it is cooled below the so-called dew point, the vapour condenses, and the released heat is returned to the heating circuit. As a result, condensing boilers achieve an efficiency of roughly 105-110% relative to the calorific value of the gas, compared with the usual 85-92% for conventional boilers.
• What type of flue does this boiler need? Most modern condensing boilers are so-called turbo boilers (with a sealed combustion chamber) and require a coaxial (concentric) or twin-pipe flue and combustion air intake routed through an exterior wall or roof - meaning a functional chimney is not required. The exact type and maximum length of the flue (based on a diameter of 60/100 or 80/125 mm) can be found in the technical documentation for the specific model, or you can consult our customer service.
• What does the ErP energy class stated for the boiler mean? This is a mandatory efficiency label for heating appliances under the EU ErP (Ecodesign) directive, similar to the energy labels used for refrigerators. Condensing boilers commonly achieve class A, or even higher when combined with room controls (e.g. A+ when using weather-compensated control together with a room thermostat).
• Can I install and connect this boiler myself? No. Connection to the natural gas supply, the electrical network and the flue system is, by law, the exclusive responsibility of a person holding the relevant qualification (most often an authorised service technician for the given brand or a certified gas appliance inspector). After installation, the boiler must be commissioned by the manufacturer's authorised service, which is usually also a condition of warranty validity.
• What about servicing and the warranty? Most manufacturers require a regular annual service inspection by an authorised service provider in order to keep the warranty valid even after its standard expiry (an extended warranty subject to regular servicing is common, especially for the Vaillant, Protherm and Viessmann brands).
