Buffer Tanks
QUADROFLEX buffer tanks are used to store thermal energy from various sources - a heat pump, solid fuel boiler, gas boiler or solar collectors - and release it gradually into the heating system as needed. The QFAT series has no built-in heat exchanger, while the QFAV series has an integrated heat exchanger for direct heating, for example from a heat pump. Capacities range from 120 to 800 litres.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between QFAT and QFAV? QFAV has a built-in heat exchanger, while QFAT has no heat exchanger and serves as a pure buffer tank.
- Why have a buffer tank with a heat pump? It reduces the number of compressor cycles and allows more efficient operation as well as the combination of several heat sources.
- What capacity should I choose for a family house? Usually 300-500 litres; the exact capacity depends on the house's heat loss and the type of heat source.
