Room air intake means combustion air is drawn from the room itself. It can be used if the boiler is installed in a larger room with an openable window or vent, for example in a cellar. The advantage of this solution is that a simple 80 mm diameter flue can be used.
Outdoor air intake means fresh air is drawn from outside through a coaxial 80/125 flue. Required if the boiler is installed in a small room with no ventilation option.
