This strap is used to hang a smaller expansion vessel directly on the wall by its neck, so that the whole weight of the vessel is not carried only by the connecting pipe to the system. It is recommended especially for vessels positioned higher up or near the boiler, where an unsecured vessel could gradually strain the connection over time.
