IVAR.PV 311 Safety Valves
IVAR.PV 311 safety valves are designed for use in heating circuits, domestic hot water preparation and cold water distribution. All valve parts in contact with water and pressurized components are made of brass. The valve seat is made of silicone rubber, so it is not at risk of sticking to the disc even at high temperatures, and it is practically resistant to wear. Supplied with an opening pressure ranging from 2.5 to 8 bar.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why is a safety valve mandatory in a closed heating system? Without it, a fault in the control system or expansion vessel could cause the system pressure to rise without limit and damage the boiler, pipework or other fittings, or cause a leak of the medium.
- How do I choose the correct opening pressure of the safety valve? The value is determined by the maximum permissible operating pressure of the boiler specified by the manufacturer – small systems commonly use 2.5 or 3 bar, larger technical installations 6 or 8 bar.
- Can a heating safety valve also be used for another medium? The IVAR.PV 311 series is designed for heating water; for other media (e.g. drinking water) separate, appropriately certified safety valves are used.
