The Vaillant DN 200 PP flue system is an original component system for discharging flue gases from large-capacity condensing boilers of the ecoCRAFT exclusiv series (and in some projects also from cascade assemblies of several Vaillant condensing boilers connected to a common flue gas collector). It is a single-wall plastic pipe made of durable polypropylene (PP), which - due to the low temperature of flue gases from condensing technology (typically up to approx. 80 °C) - is a fully-fledged and more cost-effective alternative to metal stainless steel flues used with older atmospheric or low-efficiency heat sources. The 4-piece package is the most commonly chosen variant for a standard installation of a single ecoCRAFT exclusiv boiler with a vertical outlet through the roof or a medium-height shaft - so the installation company usually does not need to combine several different packaging units and has a clearer overview when calculating materials for the job.

Installation and use in the flue pipe run

When installing a vertical flue pipe run, the brackets are distributed evenly along the whole height so that the pipe is not mechanically stressed by its own weight, while maintaining the prescribed distance from surrounding structures. A set of 4 pieces is usually sufficient for a typical height of one to two floors with standard spacing - for higher or more complex runs (for example a multi-storey shaft or a long horizontal section with several changes of direction), we recommend also purchasing the larger 10-piece package, which we also offer. Compatibility and system integration

As with the single-piece variant, these brackets are not interchangeable with brackets for other diameters of Vaillant flue systems (for example DN 110/160 mm or DN 130 mm). Static load of the flue run - why even load distribution is crucial

Although single-wall polypropylene pipe DN 200 PP is light compared to a masonry chimney or a larger-diameter stainless steel flue, the pipe itself, together with the condensate that continuously forms in it during operation, still has a non-negligible weight, especially over longer vertical sections in multi-storey shafts. Without a sufficient number of evenly distributed spacer brackets, the run could gradually sag, which increases the mechanical stress on the joints between the individual parts (elbows, extensions, straight sections) and, in extreme cases, could lead to a loss of joint tightness and leakage of flue gases outside the prescribed path.

During installation, it is important not to favour a visually "more economical" solution with fewer brackets than recommended in the installation manual, since correct bracket placement is one of the points checked during the initial inspection of the flue gas path as well as during its regular subsequent inspections.

The system of spacer brackets is designed to allow this slight expansion without creating tension at the joints, provided the prescribed spacing and anchoring type are maintained. That is precisely why it is not recommended to replace the brackets with improvised solutions (for example cable ties, universal metal clamps from a different construction field, and similar), as these may not properly account for material expansion and, in the long run, could be a source of leaks or mechanical damage to the pipe.

In practice, it often happens that an installation company underestimates the exact number of brackets needed during the initial material calculation, especially if the route changes slightly during installation compared to the original design (for example due to an unexpected structural obstacle in the shaft's path). The set of 4 pieces is therefore also useful as a reasonable extra reserve on top of the precisely calculated amount - since the price per piece is more favourable than in a single-piece package, it is worth ordering slightly more than the strictly necessary quantity to avoid delays in installation caused by waiting for a delivery of one missing piece.

In conclusion, it should be noted that although this may seem like a small and inexpensive component compared to the price of the ecoCRAFT exclusiv boiler itself, its function within the entire system is irreplaceable - without correctly placed and adequately sized spacer brackets, even the highest-quality pipe and elbows would not guarantee long-term safe and tight operation of the flue gas path.

Maintenance, service and inspection

The brackets in the set do not require any regular maintenance, as they are passive supporting elements. During the annual inspection of the flue gas path by a chimney sweep or service technician, it is recommended to go through the entire run and visually check whether any bracket is loose, corroded at the anchoring point, or mechanically damaged - for example due to construction work near the shaft. If damage to even one bracket in the set is found during inspection, it must be replaced immediately, as even load distribution along the entire run is important for the long-term stability of the flue. We recommend keeping a simple record of the date of the last inspection and any replacement, so that you have an overview of the condition of the whole run and which points were last checked.
