Elbow 30° Ø 200 mm is an original directional part of the Vaillant DN 200 PP flue gas exhaust system with the smallest commonly available angle of direction change in this range of accessories. Thanks to the minimal deviation from a straight direction, it offers the lowest pressure resistance of all the elbows in the system and is mainly used for fine-tuning the routing direction, minor corrections against the vertical axis, or when connecting to more gently sloped roof outlets.

The Vaillant DN 200 PP flue gas exhaust system is an original component system for removing flue gases from large-capacity condensing boilers of the ecoCRAFT exclusiv range (and in some projects also from cascade assemblies of several Vaillant condensing boilers connected to a common flue gas collector). It is a single-wall plastic pipe made of durable polypropylene (PP), which - due to the low temperature of flue gases in condensing technology (typically up to approx. 80 °C) - is a fully-fledged and more cost-effective alternative to metal stainless steel flue pipes used with older atmospheric or low-efficiency heat sources. Installation and use in the flue gas route

The 30° elbow is used for the finest corrections of the route direction - for example, to compensate a minor deviation of a vertical section from an exact vertical, caused by an uneven wall or shaft, or when connecting to a more gently sloped roof outlet. Installation is carried out using the same socket connection with a sealing ring as with other parts of the DN 200 PP system. The exact placement is determined by the flue gas route design; installation should be carried out exclusively by a professionally qualified company authorised to install flue gas systems for condensing technology.

The 30° elbow, with its minimal deviation, allows the routing direction to be fine-tuned so that it appears as natural and unobtrusive as possible in relation to the surrounding architecture of the building, unlike a more pronounced bend that could be visually disruptive with a sharper elbow.

From a functional point of view, the 30° elbow also offers the lowest possible pressure loss of the entire DN 200 PP elbow range - making it a suitable choice also where the route is already at the limit of the recommended length or number of direction changes, and the designer is trying to minimise every additional source of resistance to flue gas flow in order to maintain a sufficient reserve of the boiler fan's performance.

Due to the small angle of direction change, the 30° elbow is in practice often combined with longer extensions rather than shorter ones - since the lateral offset achieved by a single 30° elbow is smaller than with a 45° or 87° elbow, a longer straight section between individual direction changes is generally needed to achieve the same total deflection of the route at this angle.

As with other elbows of the DN 200 PP range, the exact choice of angle and number of elbows should be based on the flue gas route design, not on an estimate made on site - only this way can it be guaranteed that the overall geometry of the route corresponds to the designed solution as well as to the declared parameters of the ecoCRAFT exclusiv boiler.

In installations where emphasis is placed on minimising the overall pressure resistance of the route - for example, with very long runs or cascades with several boilers sharing a common collector - it is worth preferring this 30° elbow wherever a smaller correction of direction is sufficient, instead of automatically resorting to the more universal but pressure-demanding 87° elbow.

Due to the minimal angle of direction change, this elbow is the least risky part in terms of mechanical stress on the joints among the range of elbows, nevertheless it is recommended to check the tightness of its joints just as thoroughly as with other parts of the route during inspection. If replacement is needed, the elbow is simply pulled out of the socket joints on both sides and replaced with a new original part of the same diameter and angle.
