Vaillant recoVAIR EPP duct connector 210/180 mm is a simple yet, in terms of the functionality of the entire ventilation system, key accessory part used for the airtight and mechanically strong connection of two adjacent sections of EPP ducting with the same flat oval cross-section of 210 x 180 mm. Without this connector, it would not be possible to assemble a continuous ducting route from the individual shorter duct pieces (500 mm and 1000 mm) that Vaillant supplies as modular components for the recoVAIR VAR system.

Function of the connector in the duct system

Every real air ducting route in a house consists of several shorter duct sections, direction-changing fittings (elbows), flow-splitting fittings (T-pieces), and end elements (grilles, adapters).   • When installing in hot summer weather (for example, working in an attic in summer), the material may be slightly softer, which tends to make installation easier, whereas in a cold environment the EPP material may be slightly stiffer - in both cases, however, the functionality of the joint should be maintained if the correct insertion procedure is followed.
  • After completing the entire route and before covering it, carry out an overall visual inspection of all joints at once, since later access to individual connectors after the ceiling void or attic has been closed is usually significantly more limited.
