Another technical innovation from Viessmann is the fully automatic combustion control Lambda Pro. It automatically adapts to all types of gas and every flue gas system. This ensures clean and efficient combustion. It also includes automatic adaptation of the flue gas extraction.

 

Inox-Radial Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger: Efficient with a Long Service Life

The difference always lies in the stainless steel. The corrosion-resistant Inox-Radial heat exchanger made of high-grade stainless steel is the heart of the Vitodens 100-W. It converts the input energy into heat with particular efficiency. Practically without losses, with an efficiency level of 98 percent, which is hardly possible to surpass. EASY OPERATION

3.5-inch 7-segment display with touch control of the new electronic platform is characterised by very simple and easy-to-understand operation and an understated design in the Blackpanel finish. It allows very convenient setting of heating systems with a direct and/or mixed heating circuit.

 

 

 

ViCare APP

Wall-mounted gas condensing Vitodens boilers with the new electronic platform have an integrated WiFi interface.This allows a direct internet connection whenever needed. Through the ViCare app, operating the heating system is completely simple and intuitive. It creates a link to the digital service and is in direct contact with your local specialist partner.

 

ViCare uses the GPS function of your mobile phone on request and thus detects the distance from the heating appliance. If the set distance is exceeded, the room temperature is automatically lowered. You can also extend the system with the ViCare thermostat to enjoy even greater comfort and efficiency.

 

The app offers the following functions:

 

●  You have an overview of the state of the whole system in real time.

 

●  With a swipe of your finger you select the desired room temperature.

 

●  You set the desired hot water temperature.

 

●  Using the heating time assistant, you can set the switching times for heating and hot water in just a few steps.

 

●  Display of the current outdoor temperature.

 

●  Display of the temperature history for the past few days.

 

  

The ViCare app gives you an overview of the current operating state of your heating system. This gives you peace of mind and makes everything more predictable for you.Thanks to this, you can program different switching times for each day according to your needs. 

 

In addition, the app lets you choose a normal or party mode. Party mode extends the heating time for you when you have a longer celebration with guests and want to keep the warmth going for longer. A quick-select saving mode is also available. It lowers the temperature when you are away from home. Not to mention a one-off hot water boost if you want to take a long bath. 

 

Normal and party mode are available for users with both Android and Apple devices. Please note that your heating system's controller must support this function. 

 

Current status of the appliance and a direct connection to an experienced specialist 

 

In addition, the ViCare app offers automatic messages with a current description of your appliance's status. This way, you can identify in good time whether there is a problem or whether everything is fine. Similarly, through the ViCare app you have a direct line to your specialist partner as soon as a message appears on the heating appliance.  

 

Possible error messages are easy to recognise, because the ViCare app works through a traffic-light system: 

 

● Green: Everything is fine.

 

● Yellow: Maintenance is required.

 

● Red: A problem has occurred.

 

If the field is red, the contact for the specialist partner is displayed automatically. For this function, you simply select the details of your chosen specialist partner and save them in the app. Another option is to connect the specialist partner directly to the heating system. This requires service authorisation. You can do this with just two clicks. This allows the specialist partner to detect faults in good time and possibly even repair them remotely, or come to you with the correct spare parts. 

 

Installing the ViCare app

 

Installing the ViCare app is easier than you think. 

 

The following prerequisites apply:

●  An internet connection (a data plan independent of time and volume).

●  Smartphones with the Apple iOS or Google Android operating system (the current version needs to be downloaded from the relevant store).

●  The Viessmann Vitoconnect 100 internet interface, type OPTO 1.

●  Viessmann gas appliances installed from 2004, heat pumps installed from 2010, and solid-fuel heating appliances installed from 2016. You can get precise compatibility information from your authorised specialist partner. 

 

Once the ViCare system has been installed and enabled, your chosen specialist partner will be able to monitor your system using the Vitoguide app.

Frequently Asked Questions

• How exactly do I choose the output of a Viessmann condensing boiler? The starting point is the calculated heat loss of the heated building (most reliably taken from the project documentation or an energy certificate). If you don't have a project, you can roughly estimate about 60-100 W per m² of floor area for a commonly insulated house built after 2000, or 100-150 W/m² for an older, uninsulated house - the exact figure varies depending on the number of floors, ceiling height, the number and quality of windows, and the building's orientation. A boiler oversized for its output switches on and off more often (so-called cycling), which shortens its service life and reduces efficiency; an undersized boiler, on the other hand, cannot heat the house sufficiently on frosty days.

This particular Viessmann model is supplied in the output range 3,2 - 32 kW. For a modulating boiler type, always choose based on the highest demand (the coldest days of the year), since the boiler can regulate its output downward by itself.

• Why is a condensing boiler more economical than a conventional one? A condensing boiler additionally uses the heat hidden in the water vapour produced when gas is burned - in a conventional boiler this heat escapes unused through the flue, while in a condensing unit it is cooled below the so-called dew point, the vapour condenses, and the released heat is returned to the heating circuit. Thanks to this, condensing boilers achieve an efficiency of approximately 105-110% relative to the calorific value of the gas, compared to the usual 85-92% for conventional boilers.
• What type of flue does this boiler need? Most modern condensing boilers are so-called “turbo” units (with a sealed combustion chamber) and require a concentric (coaxial) or separate flue gas outlet and combustion air intake routed through an outer wall or the roof - so a functioning chimney is not needed. The exact type and maximum length of the flue (depending on the 60/100 or 80/125 mm diameter) can be found in the technical documentation for the specific model, or you can consult our customer service.
• What does the ErP energy class stated for the boiler mean? This is a mandatory efficiency label for heating appliances under the EU ErP (Ecodesign) directive, similar to the energy labels used for refrigerators. Condensing boilers commonly achieve class A, or even higher in combination with room controls (e.g. A+ when using weather-compensated control and a room thermostat).
• Can I install and connect this boiler myself? No. Connection to the natural gas supply, the electrical network, and the flue is by law reserved exclusively for a person with the appropriate qualification (usually an authorised service technician for the given brand or a certified gas appliance inspector). After installation, the boiler must be commissioned by the manufacturer's authorised service, which is usually also a condition for the warranty to be valid.
• What about servicing and the warranty? Most manufacturers require a regular annual service inspection by an authorised service provider in order for the warranty to remain valid even after its standard expiry (an extended warranty subject to regular servicing is common especially with the brands Vaillant, Protherm, and Viessmann).
