Aquamat Water Tanks
Aquamat CIMM ACS units are pressure tanks designed for direct installation in drinking and domestic water pipework – they are most often fitted to electric boilers or instant water heaters, where they dampen the pressure rise during water heating and protect the pipework and fittings from wear. Unlike heating expansion tanks, they are certified for contact with drinking water. They are available in small volumes from 2 to 24 litres.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How does an aquamat differ from a heating expansion tank? An aquamat has a membrane and materials approved for contact with drinking water, while a standard expansion tank is intended only for closed heating circuits.
- Where is an aquamat installed? Usually on the cold water supply before a boiler or instant water heater.
- Is an aquamat needed with every boiler? It is especially recommended for closed systems with a check valve or pressure-reducing valve on the inlet.
