Product detailed description
The brass threaded elbow 6/4" MF is the most commonly used joint for steel heating pipework, for example under the boiler and other heating installations.
A brass threaded elbow changes the direction of the pipe run by 90° (or another angle, depending on the specific type). Brass is a long-proven, standard material for threaded water and heating pipework thanks to its resistance to corrosion and reliable tightness when the joint is properly tightened.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I choose the right fitting size? The thread size (e.g. 1/2", 3/4", 1") must exactly match the thread size on the pipe or fixture you are connecting the fitting to - designations such as FF (female-female), MF (male-female) and similar abbreviations in the name indicate the type of thread on each side of the fitting.
- What do the abbreviations FF and MF mean in the name? F (female thread) and M (male thread) indicate the type of thread on each side of the fitting - for example, "FF" means a female thread on both sides, while "MF" means a male thread on one side and a female thread on the other.
- Do I need to use sealing material during installation? Yes, sealing material (e.g. PTFE tape or hemp fiber with sealing paste) is normally used on threaded joints to ensure a perfectly tight connection - the thread alone, without sealant, will not seal reliably.
- Does the installation have to be done by a professional? A simple threaded connection can be handled by a competent DIY user, but when working on an already functioning system (especially a gas or pressurized water/heating system) we recommend calling in a plumber, who can also verify the tightness of the joint after installation.
- What material and pressure rating does this fitting have? It is made of brass, suitable for standard water and heating systems - exact nominal pressure and temperature values (where specified for the given product) can be found in the technical parameters above.
