Heating and cooling water buffer tanks - IVAR.PUFFER PSS
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a heating water buffer tank used for? It balances the difference between the output of the heat source (e.g. a boiler or heat pump) and the current heat demand of the system, extends the life of the source and reduces the number of its switching cycles.
- What is the difference between the PUFFER PS, PSR and PSS ranges? PUFFER PS has no heat exchanger, PSR has one integrated heat exchanger (e.g. for a solar circuit), PSS is also designed for cooling water in closed systems.
- What volumes are the tanks available in? From compact 50 l units to large-volume tanks around 1000 l, in both floor-standing and wall-mounted versions.
- Is additional thermal insulation necessary? The tanks are usually supplied with an insulating jacket; for larger volumes and lower heat losses we recommend checking the insulation thickness for the specific model.
