- What is the difference between a copper and a stainless steel heating insert? The copper insert (IVAR.SA) is used mainly for classic applications thanks to its higher thermal conductivity, while the stainless steel insert (IVAR.FT) is more suitable where corrosion resistance and a longer service life are important.
- Why is a protective anode needed? It protects the steel enamelled jacket of the tank against corrosion; the magnesium anode is gradually consumed and must be checked regularly, while the electronic anode (IVAR.AE) works without consuming any material.
- How often should the anode be checked? We recommend checking a classic magnesium anode at least once a year, and replacing it if significant material loss is found, to keep the tank's corrosion protection intact.
- How do I choose the right heating insert? The decisive factors are the diameter of the tank neck (e.g. DN 100/DN 180 or DN 200/DN 290), the length of the insert and the required heat exchange area based on the output of the heat source.
