Installation instructions

1. Connection of the heating mat must be carried out only by a person with appropriate qualification and certification.

2. The heating mat must be protected against excessive tension and pulling during installation.

3. The subfloor under the heating mat must be clean, without sharp edges or objects.

4. Connection of the heating mat must be carried out in accordance with applicable standards.

5. Use the heating mat only with a thermostat, with a floor temperature sensor, or with a floor and room sensor.

6. The heating mat must not be shortened, extended or stressed in the area of the cold joint (the connection between the heating and supply cable). The heating cables must not touch, cross or be damaged.

7. It is not recommended to install the heating mat at a temperature below + 5 °C.

8. Do not install the heating mat under permanently built-in areas with insufficient heat dissipation (under bathtubs, shower trays) – overheating may occur.

General instructions for installing electric mats

1. Measure the room and draw up a plan for laying the strips of the heating mat on the surface. Remember to leave out built-in areas (bathtub, toilet ...).

2. Create a groove for placing the installation tubes for the temperature sensor. The end of the installation tube should be carefully sealed and led into the heated area, at least 50 cm from the wall.

3. Before laying the heating mat, measure the ohmic resistance, which should correspond to the value stated on the heating mat's label with a tolerance of -5 to +10%. The measured insulation resistance should show infinity.

4. Pull the heating mat's supply conductor through the installation tube to the thermostat (or connection box).

5. Begin laying the heating mats on the surface according to the laying plan. Follow these instructions: heating mats must not overlap or touch. The distances between the heating strips should not be larger (risk of cold spots) or smaller (risk of overheating) than the spacing of the heating cables on the heating mat. Cover the area with strips of heating mats so that you always cut the glass fabric on which the heating cable is fixed, and turn the other strip so it faces the same direction as the first, continuing this way to the end.

6. Lay the heating mats, where possible, so that the heating cable faces upward and the adhesive side faces the floor, ensuring the best possible fixation to the subfloor. In case of insufficient adhesion, the heating mats can be fixed through the glass fabric with staples, construction adhesive, or hot-melt glue. A SINGLE CABLE must not be fixed this way!!! If the area is to be covered with self-levelling compound, the heating mat should be fixed with flexible construction adhesive every 20-25 centimetres of the compound, otherwise the heating mat may float up to the surface.

7. After laying the heating mat, measure the ohmic resistance again to make sure the cables have not been mechanically damaged.

8. Glue the tiles with flexible construction adhesive.

9. Connect the controls according to the diagram for the given type of thermostat. Insert the floor temperature sensor all the way to the end of the installation tube.

10. Commissioning may only be carried out after the construction materials have fully cured (concrete, anhydrite, construction adhesive).
