IVAR brass heating fittings (union connectors)
Heating union fittings are used to create a detachable connection between the pipework or a valve and a radiator or a distribution line. They are made of brass in both straight and angle versions, in sizes from 3/8" up to 2", including reducing combinations (for example 3/4"x1/2"). Sealing in the joint is provided by an O-ring or a flat gasket, and the joint can be repeatedly dismantled during servicing or when replacing the radiator.
The choice of fitting is governed by the connection size of the radiator and the diameter of the pipework. The angle version is used where the pipe comes out of the floor or the side of the wall, while the straight version is used when the connection is in line with the radiator.
