• How do I choose the correct fitting size? The thread size (e.g. 1/2", 3/4", 1") must exactly match the thread size on the pipe or fitting you are connecting to - designations such as FF (female-female), MF (male-female) and similar abbreviations in the name indicate the thread type on each side of the fitting.
• What do the abbreviations FF and MF mean? F (female thread) and M (male thread) indicate the thread type on the given side of the fitting - for example "FF" means female thread on both sides, "MF" means male thread on one side and female on the other.
• Is sealing material needed during installation? Yes, threaded joints are typically sealed with a sealing material (e.g. PTFE tape or hemp fibre with sealing paste) to ensure a perfectly tight joint - the thread alone, without sealant, will not seal reliably.
