EASY OPERATION

The new electronic platform's 3.5-inch 7-segment display with touch control features very simple and clear operation and an understated design in the Blackpanel finish. It allows very convenient setting of heating systems with a direct and/or mixed heating circuit.

ViCare APP

Vitodens wall-mounted gas condensing boilers with the new electronic platform have an integrated WiFi interface. This allows, as needed, a direct internet connection. Through the ViCare app, operating the heating system is completely simple and intuitive. It creates a link to the digital service and is in direct contact with a local professional partner.

ViCare can use the mobile phone's GPS function on request to detect the distance from the heating appliance. If the set distance is exceeded, the room temperature is automatically lowered. You can also extend the system with the ViCare thermostat to enjoy even greater comfort and efficiency.

The app offers the following functions:

● You have an overview of the status of the entire system in real time.

● With a swipe of your finger you set the desired room temperature.

● You set the desired hot water temperature.

● Using the heating time assistant, you can set the switching times for heating and hot water in just a few steps.

● Display of the current outdoor temperature.

● Display of the temperature history for the last few days.

The ViCare app gives you an overview of the current operating status of your heating system. This gives you security and makes everything more predictable for you. Thanks to this, you can program different switching times for each day according to your needs.

You can also select normal or party mode in the app. Party mode can extend the heating time when you have a longer gathering with guests and want to keep it warm for longer. A quick-select saving mode is also available. It lowers the temperature when you are away from home. Not to mention a one-off hot water boost if you want to take a long bath.

Normal mode and party mode are available to users with both Android and Apple devices. Please note that your heating system's control must support this function.

Current appliance status and a direct connection to an experienced professional partner

In addition, the ViCare app offers automatic messages with a current description of your appliance's status. This way you can identify in good time whether there is a problem or whether everything is fine. Similarly, through the ViCare app you have a direct line to a professional partner as soon as a message appears on the heating appliance.

Possible fault messages are easy to recognise. This is because the ViCare app works using a traffic-light system:

● Green: Everything is fine.

● Yellow: Maintenance is required.

● Red: A problem has occurred.

If the field is red, the contact for a professional partner is automatically displayed. For this function, you only need to select the details of the chosen professional partner and save them in the app. Another option is to connect the professional partner directly to the heating system. This requires service authorisation. You can do this with just two clicks. This allows the professional partner to detect faults in good time and possibly even repair them remotely, or come to you with the correct spare parts.

Installing the ViCare app

Installing the ViCare app is easier than you think.

The following requirements apply:

● Internet connection (a data plan independent of time and volume limits).

● Smartphones with the Apple iOS or Google Android operating system (the current version must be downloaded from the relevant store).

● Viessmann Vitoconnect 100 internet interface, type OPTO 1.

● Viessmann gas appliances installed since 2004, heat pumps installed since 2010, and solid fuel heating appliances installed since 2016. Exact compatibility information is available from your authorised professional partner.

Once the ViCare system has been installed and enabled, your professional partner will, based on your choice, be able to monitor your system using the Vitoguide app.

ViCare THERMOSTAT

• How exactly do I choose the output of a Viessmann condensing boiler? The basis is the calculated heat loss of the heated building (most reliably from project documentation or an energy certificate). If you don't have a project, you can roughly estimate around 60-100 W per m² of floor area for a typically insulated house built after 2000, or 100-150 W/m² for an older, uninsulated house - the exact figure, however, varies depending on the number of floors, room height, the number and quality of windows, and the building's orientation. A boiler oversized for its output switches on and off more often (so-called cycling), which shortens its lifespan and reduces efficiency; an undersized boiler, on the other hand, cannot sufficiently heat the house on freezing days.

This particular Viessmann model is supplied in the output range 3,2 - 25 kW. For a boiler type with output modulation, always choose based on the highest demand (the coldest days of the year), since the boiler can regulate its output downward on its own.

• Why is a condensing boiler more economical than a conventional one? A condensing boiler additionally uses the heat hidden in the water vapour produced when gas is burned - in a conventional boiler this escapes unused through the flue, while in a condensing boiler it is cooled below the so-called dew point, the vapour condenses, and the released heat is returned to the heating circuit. As a result, condensing boilers achieve an efficiency of approximately 105-110% relative to the calorific value of the gas, compared to a typical 85-92% for conventional boilers.
• What type of flue gas exhaust does this boiler need? Most modern condensing boilers are so-called turbo boilers (with a sealed combustion chamber) and require a coaxial (concentric) or separate flue gas exhaust and combustion air supply routed through an external wall or roof - so a functional chimney is not needed. • What does the ErP energy class shown for the boiler mean? This is the mandatory efficiency label for heating appliances under the EU ErP (Ecodesign) directive, similar to the energy labels on refrigerators. Condensing boilers typically achieve class A, or higher in combination with room control (e.g. A+ when using weather-compensated control and a room thermostat).
• Can I install and connect this boiler myself? No. By law, connection to the natural gas supply, the electrical network, and the flue gas exhaust may only be carried out by a person with the relevant qualification (most often an authorised service technician for the given brand or a gas appliance inspection technician). After installation, the boiler must be commissioned by the manufacturer's authorised service, which is usually also a condition for the warranty to be valid.
• What about servicing and the warranty? Most manufacturers require a regular annual service inspection by an authorised service provider in order for the warranty to remain valid even after its standard expiry (extended warranty for regular servicing is common, especially for the brands Vaillant, Protherm, and Viessmann).
