NEW EU-L-8 E Features:
• works together with up to 6 wireless actuating modules (switching contacts) MW-1 or MW-1-230V (which can switch a heat source or pump), which can be assigned to designated zones
• heating and cooling, allowing you to connect a heat pump that can automatically switch from heating mode to cooling mode
• choice of one of four operating modes (normal, holiday, comfort, economy)
• control based on weather compensation (outdoor temperature) when an outdoor temperature sensor (wired or wireless) is connected
• can also control actuators that are normally open (NO) when de-energised
Zone controls for underfloor heating (cooling) – operating principle
Underfloor heating controls allow individual temperature control for each room separately. Newer versions of the controls, such as series 7, 8 and 9, already come as standard with heating and cooling capability. Using the internet and mobile devices, you can monitor and adjust the heating (cooling) parameters. In addition, a pump and heating device can be connected to the TECH Controllers underfloor heating controls, which the control switches on/off according to the signal indicating the room needs additional heat. Versions with cooling capability have an additional output for connecting a heat pump. Series 7, 8 and 9 also allow a mixing valve module (CS-i-1 or CS-i-1m) to be connected via an RS cable, with the valve and pump settings made from the main control unit and, when an internet/WiFi module is used, also via the mobile app. In larger buildings with several heating circuits, where a TECH Controllers control for multiple circuits is used (CS-i-2, CS-i-3), zone controls can be integrated into the system using voltage-free outputs on the main control unit, which we connect to CS-i-2/CS-i-3 on the terminals for the room thermostat.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the advantage of a wireless system over a wired one? The signal between the sensors and the control unit is transmitted by radio, so there is no need to run signal cables – ideal for renovations.
- What is the range of the wireless signal? This is usually enough for a family house; for larger buildings or thicker walls, the range can be extended with a signal repeater (RP-3, RP-4).
- Can a pump or heat source also be connected? Yes, using the MW-1 or MW-1-230V actuating module, which the control switches on/off as needed for additional heating.
- How long does the battery in the room sensor last? Typical battery life is around 1-2 heating seasons, with the exact figure depending on the specific model.
