This product belongs to the group of professional automatic backup power supplies (UPS) specially designed and built for the continuous power supply of solid-fuel boilers in the event of a main power failure. In the event of a power failure, the backup power supply (UPS) provides instant energy from the battery, keeping the circulating pump running and safely cooling down the boiler.

This backup power supply can also be used to keep other electrical appliances running that require stable, consistent electrical power parameters. This product should not be used as a converter (with unlimited operation from a 12 V battery).

The main feature of this device is the output waveform when running on battery. The waveform is a pure sine wave, identical to the main electrical grid supply in your home. When the main power in your home is on, the backup power supply will charge the battery and ensure a long battery service life. The backup power supply (UPS) works only with an external 12V battery (for the 1050 W model, with a 24V battery). Only a lead-acid type battery should be used, as the backup power supply is designed for charging this type of battery. The use of gel batteries is not recommended.

WARNING! Be careful when handling the battery. Before connecting the backup power supply, remove metal objects (e.g. bracelets, chains, watches, rings, etc.), because a short circuit could occur, causing metal objects on the user's body to heat up. When connecting the battery, maintain the correct polarity: the red (+ positive) cable is connected to the + terminal and the black (- negative) wire is connected to the - terminal. Metal connectors are used to attach the cable to the battery terminals. Before connecting, it is recommended to clean the battery contacts with a brush. Tighten the connector with a wrench to ensure a solid contact.

Install the backup power supply (UPS) in a dry place, free of moisture, out of reach of water or snow. The installation location of the backup power supply (UPS) must be large enough not to obstruct its cooling system. The location should also be free of dust or coal dust that could block the backup power supply's fan. The installation site should be well ventilated to prevent the system from overheating. To avoid electric shock, check that all cables are in good condition and free of unshielded sections. Operation of the backup power supply (UPS) may cause sparking. The backup power supply should not be installed in flammable environments.

POZOR! The backup power supply (UPS) only works when connected to an external battery. It should not be used without a battery connected. After connecting the battery, plug the main power cable into a grounded (230V, 50 Hz) mains socket. On the back of the unit, connect the device you want to keep running during a power failure. Follow this order: connect the battery, connect the main power, and then connect the load (device) to the backup power supply (UPS). To switch the unit on, press and hold the power button (ON/OFF) for 4 seconds.

System operation begins with automatic detection of the battery and mains voltage status. If the battery voltage drops below 10.8V, the battery may be damaged and cannot be started.

In the event of a power failure, or if its parameters are outside the normal range, the backup power supply (UPS) automatically switches to the battery. The switch-over to battery is shown on the backup power supply's (UPS) display. The device (UPS) also announces the switch-over to battery with an audible signal.

When the battery voltage drops below the minimum value (the battery is discharged), the backup power supply (UPS) increases the frequency of the warning sound and disconnects the power.

If the device connected to the backup power supply (UPS) exceeds the maximum output by 110%, the backup power supply (UPS) will start emitting an intermittent beep and switch off automatically. For inductive loads (e.g. water pumps and electric motors), it is recommended to use the device up to 50% of the backup power supply's (UPS) maximum output, as inductive loads may require double the power rating at start-up.

WARNING! Danger! You must not touch the battery terminals during operation.

To stop the backup power supply (UPS), hold the ON/OFF button for 4 seconds. The backup power supply will then emit a beep and shut down.

WARNING! This is only a safety device used solely in the event of a power failure. When using this device, please do not leave it near fuel.

Main features:

  • The backup power supply (UPS) shuts down when the battery is discharged. If the battery is discharged to 10.8V, the backup power supply disconnects the power to prevent battery damage. A fast audible alarm signals: - Overload protection: if the load on the backup power supply (UPS) exceeds 110% of the rated output, the backup power supply (UPS) shuts down to prevent damage.
  • Short-circuit protection: the backup power supply (UPS) shuts down in the event of a short circuit. - Voltage regulator (AVR) ensures a constant voltage for devices within the given range. Battery activation: the system switches to the battery and provides continuous power to the device. - Bypass function:
  • Automation: if the mains power is non-standard, the backup power supply automatically switches to the battery. - Start-up boost: in some cases a higher starting power than the rated output of the backup power supply (UPS) is needed. In this case the backup power supply (UPS) solves this problem by supplying 110% of its capacity. It switches off once that capacity has been delivered.
  • High charging current: the initial charging current is about 10A. It charges the battery faster than ordinary chargers.
  • Battery maintenance in standby mode: once the battery is fully charged, the backup power supply (UPS) keeps it topped up. For optimal results, the battery capacity must be within the range: 40 Ah -150 Ah. Do not use a battery with a capacity below 40Ah, as the backup power supply's (UPS) initial charging current (up to 10A) may reduce its service life

For a load of 100W:

  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 65 Ah battery will run for 3.5 hours.
  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 120 Ah battery will run for 6.5 hours.
  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 150 Ah battery will run for 8 hours.

For a load of 200W:

  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 65 Ah battery will run for 2 hours.
  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 120 Ah battery will run for 3 hours.
  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 150 Ah battery will run for 4 hours.

For a load of 300W:

  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 65 Ah battery will run for 1.5 hours.
  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 120 Ah battery will run for 2.5 hours.
  • the backup power supply (UPS) with a 150 Ah battery will run for 3 hours.

Frequently asked questions

  • How do I choose the correct power rating (W) for a backup power supply? It must cover the power draw of the connected circulating pump (and possibly the boiler's electronics as well) with a sufficient reserve - you'll find the pump's power draw in its own technical specifications (typically tens to hundreds of watts).
  • Is the battery included? With a standalone UPS module, usually not - the battery needs to be purchased separately with the correct voltage and capacity (Ah) supported by this specific model. Some offers are also available as a complete set including the battery.

Dobrý den, koupil jsem si Záložní zdroj pro oběhová čerpadla Avansa 300 W. Po zapojení zdroj běží, ale po nějaké době (přibližně dvou až třech hodinách provozu) jistič (circuit breaker) vypadne a záložní zdroj přestane fungovat. Prosím o radu, jak postupovat, aby zdroj fungoval nebo informaci, o jakou závadu se jedná. Děkuji Martin

Prosím poraďte mi - potrebujem záložný zdroj na PC a obehové čerpadlo príkon cca 100 W - teda asi celkový výkon zdroja 500 W a viac. Neviem sa rozhodnúť pre aký systém - buď NZ so vstavanými baterkami alebo externá autobatéria Ten zdroj by mal mať digi ukazovatele nabíjania atď. Prosím poraďte - díky

Chcel by som Vás poprosiť o bližšiu informáciu aké batérie sú vhodné k záložnému zdroju Avansa 300 W alebo 500W. Uvádzate, že len olovené. Ale olovené sú aj s tekutým elektrolitom(bežné automobilové) a sú aj s gélovým elektrolitom (gélové). Teda je vhodná k tomuto zariadeniu gélová batéria? Tieto batérie sú oveľa vhodnejšie na tento typ využitia ale sú náročnejšie na nabíjanie. Za odpoveď vopred ďakujem.
