This product belongs to the group of professional automatic backup power supplies (UPS) specially designed and manufactured for the continuous power supply of solid fuel boilers in the event of a main power failure. In the event of a power failure, the backup power supply (UPS) provides immediate energy from the battery, keeping the circulation pumps running and safely cooling the boiler down.
This backup power supply can be used to ensure the operation of other electrical appliances that require stable, consistent electrical power parameters. This product should not be used as a converter (for unlimited operation from a 12V battery).
The main feature of this device is the shape of the output power curve when running on battery. The curve is a pure sine wave, identical to the main electricity supply in your home. When the main power in your home is on, the backup power supply will charge the battery and ensure a long battery service life. The backup power supply (UPS) works only with an external 12V battery (for the 1050 W model, a 24V battery). Only a lead-acid type battery should be used, as the backup power supply is designed for charging this type of battery. The use of gel batteries is not recommended.
WARNING! Be careful when handling the battery. Before connecting the backup power supply, remove any metal objects (e.g. bracelets, chains, watches, rings, etc.), as this could cause an electrical short circuit and subsequent scattering of metal materials onto the user's body. When connecting the battery, observe the correct polarity: the red (+ positive) cable must be connected to the + terminal, and the black (- negative) wire must be connected to the - terminal. Metal connectors are used to connect the cable to the battery terminals. Before connecting, it is recommended to clean the battery contacts with a brush. Tighten the connector using a wrench to ensure a firm contact.
Install the backup power supply (UPS) in a dry place, free of moisture, out of reach of water or snow. The installation location of the backup power supply (UPS) must be large enough not to obstruct its cooling system. The location should also be free of dust or coal dust, which could block the backup power supply's fan. The installation location should be well ventilated to prevent the system from overheating. To avoid electric shock, check that all cables are in good condition and free of any exposed, uninsulated parts. Operation of the backup power supply (UPS) may cause sparking. The backup power supply should not be installed in flammable environments.
WARNING! The backup power supply (UPS) only works when connected to an external battery. It should not be used without a battery connected. After connecting the battery, plug the main power cable into a grounded (230V, 50 Hz) mains socket. Connect the device you want to keep running during a power failure to the back of the unit. Follow this order: connect the battery, connect the main power, and then connect the consumer (device) to the backup power supply (UPS). To switch the unit on, press and hold the power button (ON/OFF) for 4 seconds.
System operation begins with automatic detection of the battery status and mains voltage. If the battery voltage drops below 10.8V, the battery may be damaged and cannot be started.
In the event of a power failure, or if the mains parameters are not within the normal range, the backup power supply (UPS) automatically switches to battery power. The switch to battery power is shown on the display of the backup power supply (UPS). The device (UPS) also announces the switch to battery power with an audible signal.
When the battery voltage drops below the minimum value (the battery is discharged), the backup power supply (UPS) increases the frequency of the warning sound and disconnects the power.
If the device connected to the backup power supply (UPS) exceeds the maximum output by 110%, the backup power supply (UPS) starts emitting an intermittent acoustic signal and switches off automatically. For inductive devices (e.g. water pumps and electric motors), it is recommended to use the device up to 50% of the backup power supply's (UPS) maximum output, as inductive devices may require double the power value at start-up.
WARNING! Danger! Do not touch the battery terminals during operation.
To stop the backup power supply (UPS), hold down the ON/OFF button for 4 seconds. The backup power supply will then emit an audible signal and stop.
WARNING! This is only a safety device intended for use during power outages. When using this device, please do not leave it near fuel.
Main functions:
- The backup power supply (UPS) stops if the battery is discharged. If the battery is discharged to 10.8V, the backup power supply disconnects the power to prevent battery damage. A rapid audible alarm signals: - Overload protection: If the load on the backup power supply (UPS) exceeds 110% of the rated output, the backup power supply (UPS) stops to prevent damage.
- Short-circuit protection: The backup power supply (UPS) stops in the event of a short circuit. - Voltage regulator (AVR) maintains a constant voltage for devices within the given range. Battery activation: the system switches to battery power and provides uninterrupted power to the device. - Bypass function:
- Automation: if the mains power is abnormal, the backup power supply automatically switches to battery power. - Start-up conversion: in some cases a higher starting output is required than the rated output of the backup power supply (UPS). In this case the backup power supply (UPS) solves this problem by delivering 110% of its capacity. It switches off once this capacity has been delivered.
- High charging current: the initial charging current is about 10A. It charges the battery faster than standard chargers.
- Keeping the battery in standby mode: once the battery is fully charged, the backup power supply (UPS) keeps it charged. For optimal results the battery capacity must be within the range of: 40 Ah - 150 Ah. Do not use a battery with a capacity lower than 40Ah, as the backup power supply's (UPS) initial charging current (up to 10A) may reduce its service life
