Carry out the assembly of the compression fitting in the order and direction shown in the following images. 2. Insert the pipe and the corresponding EPDM seal into the fitting and make sure everything is clean and that the sealing O-ring has not been damaged. 3. Fit the nut onto the thread and tighten it by hand; to fully tighten it, use a wrench of the appropriate size AC 670 / AC 671. Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I choose the right fitting size? The thread size must exactly match the thread on the pipe or fitting it connects to - the abbreviations FF (female-female thread) and MF (male-female) in the name indicate the thread type on each side.
- Is sealing material needed during installation? Yes, PTFE tape or hemp fiber with sealing paste is typically used on threaded joints to ensure a perfectly tight seal.
- Must installation be carried out by a professional? A simple threaded connection can be handled by a competent DIYer, but for work on an already functioning system (especially gas), we recommend calling in a plumber/heating technician who can also verify the joint's tightness.
