Detailed information

Product detailed description

Magnetic Filter SENTINEL Vortex 500, size: 1"

In order to create a Vortex range of filters that fully satisfies installers, we took your favourite features from our previous Eliminator range of filters, such as a leak-preventing and clog-preventing design combined with a build quality comparable to the automotive industry, and combined them with traditional magnetic filtration, a slim shape and close proximity to the pipe for easy installation in tight spaces.

To offer units that cover all your requirements and space constraints for installation, we have two sizes available in this range:

Sentinel  Vortex 300: a compact unit intended for small spaces, which captures more magnetite than other leading small filters

Sentinel Vortex 500: offers a larger collection capacity

Both sizes can be installed directly in the pipework and are fitted with a T-piece rotatable through 360° for easy installation within minutes. Servicing can be carried out quickly: either by flushing out the debris using the drain valve within seconds, or by removing the cuff so you can show customers the accumulated debris. No special tools are needed to remove the cuff and the seal does not need to be replaced, so servicing is genuinely simple.

Every unit is pressure-tested before leaving the factory, and every product is covered by a ten-year warranty, so you can be completely confident in the quality.

Key features:

  • Choice of two sizes: large and compact, for maximum captured debris and for easy installation in tight spaces
  • The filters are manufactured to automotive industry standards using high-quality brass valves with a ten-year warranty, giving customers complete assurance of long-term quality
  • They are fitted with a double seal, which does not need to be replaced during annual maintenance, ensuring absolute reliability and simple, quick servicing
  • Two maintenance methods include a quick and effective flush during servicing, or a simple check of the accumulated debris
  • An easy-to-use drain valve secured against unauthorised tampering ensures quick and easy servicing
  • A T-piece fitting rotatable through 360° for easy and fast installation on the pipe in any orientation
  • An assembly with a powerful 0.9 Tesla magnet with an innovative Vortex Core cyclonic core - first-class debris separation even at high flow rates for unparalleled debris retention

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How exactly do I choose the output of a condensing boiler? The basis is the calculated heat loss of the heated building (most reliably taken from the project documentation or the energy certificate). If you don't have a project, you can estimate roughly 60-100 W per m² of floor area for a normally insulated house built after 2000, or 100-150 W/m² for an older, uninsulated house - the exact figure, however, varies depending on the number of floors, room heights, the number and quality of windows, and the building's orientation. An oversized boiler switches on and off more often (so-called cycling), which shortens its lifespan and reduces efficiency; an undersized boiler, on the other hand, cannot heat the house sufficiently on frosty days.
  • Why is a condensing boiler more economical than a conventional one? A condensing boiler additionally makes use of the heat hidden in the water vapour produced when gas is burned - in a conventional boiler this escapes unused through the flue, while in a condensing boiler it is cooled below the so-called dew point, the vapour condenses, and the released heat is returned to the heating circuit. Thanks to this, condensing boilers achieve an efficiency of approximately 105-110% relative to the calorific value of the gas, compared to the usual 85-92% for conventional boilers.
  • What type of flue gas discharge does this boiler need? Most modern condensing boilers are so-called turbo boilers (with a sealed combustion chamber) and require a coaxial (concentric) or separated flue gas discharge and combustion air supply routed through an external wall or the roof - so they do not need a functioning chimney. You will find the exact type and maximum length of the flue (depending on the 60/100 or 80/125 mm diameter) in the technical documentation for the specific model, or you can consult our customer service.
  • What does the ErP energy class shown for the boiler mean? This is the mandatory efficiency label for heating appliances under the EU ErP (Ecodesign) directive, similar to the energy labels on refrigerators. Condensing boilers commonly achieve class A, or even higher when combined with room controls (e.g. A+ when using weather-compensated control and a room thermostat).
  • Can I install and connect this boiler myself? No. Connection to the natural gas supply, the electrical network and the flue gas discharge is by law reserved exclusively for a person with the relevant qualification (most commonly an authorised service technician of the given brand or a gas appliance inspection technician). After installation, the boiler must be commissioned by the manufacturer's authorised service, which is usually also a condition for the warranty to be valid.
  • What about servicing and the warranty? Most manufacturers require a regular annual service inspection by an authorised service provider in order to keep the warranty valid even after its standard period expires (an extended warranty for regular servicing is common especially for brands such as Vaillant, Protherm and Viessmann). You will find the exact warranty conditions in the warranty card supplied with the boiler.
  • What is included in the delivery of this specific product? The exact package contents (the boiler itself, or a hot water tank, room controls and other accessories in the case of a set) are stated in the product name and in its technical parameters above on this page.
