Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does a PRESS connection work? The fitting is slid onto the pipe and the press sleeve is permanently pressed on with special pliers; the joint can only be separated by cutting the pipe, and requires no welding or soldering.
  • Can a press joint be made repeatedly at the same spot? No, once pressed the joint is permanent; in case of an error, both the fitting and a section of pipe must be replaced and the joint made at a new location.
  • What is a reduced fitting? A fitting connecting pipes of different diameters, for example a main distribution line with a thinner connecting pipe to the panel.
  • Why is thermal insulation fitted onto fittings? It reduces heat losses at the joint and protects against condensation in cooling mode.
