• What tools do I need to install this fitting? Press fittings require specialised press pliers with the correct jaw type (commonly marked B, F, or TH depending on the system) matching the size and type of the fitting - without the right tool the joint cannot be made or checked.
• How do I know the joint has been pressed correctly? Quality press fittings have a press indicator (e.g. a sealing O-ring that leaks if pressing is incomplete) - before being embedded in a wall or screed, the whole system must always be pressure-tested.
• Can the joint be taken apart after pressing? No, unlike a screwed (compression) fitting, a pressed joint is permanent and taking it apart requires cutting out the fitting and replacing it with a new one.
