• How do I choose the correct size of fitting? The thread size must exactly match the thread on the pipe or fitting it connects to - the abbreviations FF (female-female thread) and MF (male-female thread) in the name indicate the thread type on each side.
• Is sealing material needed for installation? Yes, threaded joints are typically sealed with PTFE tape or hemp fibre with sealing paste to ensure the joint is fully tight.
• Does the installation have to be done by a professional? A simple threaded connection can be handled by a competent DIYer, but when working on an already functioning system (especially gas), we recommend calling in a plumber, who will also verify the joint is leak-tight.
