WaterBoss 700 is the most efficient, fully automatic system on the market, designed for cleaning water in apartments and family houses. It effectively treats water containing up to 10 mg/l of iron and manganese, and up to 12 mmol/l of hardness.
WaterBoss softening and iron-removal systems are designed for use in the water systems of family houses, large businesses and residential estates.
If the water you use contains too much iron or manganese, or is too hard, it can cause a lot of problems.
Brown deposits and a film on the surface of boiled water, bad-tasting tea, rust stains in the bath and sink, high consumption of soap and washing powder. Does all this sound familiar?!
You can put up with bad-tasting tea and soap that won't lather, regularly clean scale out of the kettle and pots, and filter boiled water through a sieve. But what do you do when hard water enters the house's plumbing system, the boiler and other appliances? „Cleaning out“ a pipe that is rusted and scaled on the inside is theoretically possible, but it's easier to replace it. The service life of washing machines, taps and other appliances decreases in proportion to water hardness. So you have to decide: either soften the water, or become an expert at repairing every water-using appliance.
Using softened water prevents the build-up of scale and iron/manganese oxides that clog and shorten the life of pipework and water-using appliances, and lets you save up to 30% on electricity and 75% on detergents. In addition, hard water weakens hair, and detergents lather poorly in it.

The high-output Aquaphor WaterBoss system is designed to filter out hardness ions (calcium, magnesium), iron and manganese, and to remove sediment from water from public and local supplies (boreholes, wells, etc.).
Unlike an ordinary water softening and iron-removal treatment plant

The Aquaphor WaterBoss softener uses a monodisperse ion-exchange resin with bead diameters of around 0.2 mm. The “narrow” particle-size distribution, combined with the small bead size forming the sorption (ion-exchange) medium, gives very low hydrodynamic resistance and fast ion-exchange reaction kinetics.
Using a similar ion-exchange resin in “classic gravity-fill columns” is not possible, because such devices have inlet/outlet column clearances of around 0.5 mm.
Regeneration efficiency
In the WaterBoss system, regeneration is carried out counter-current, “in a compacted bed”, which is not possible with a loosely packed resin bed because of capillary rise effects. This achieves a significant salt saving during regeneration (up to 70%).
Using water and salt, the WaterBoss automatically cleans itself and flushes accumulated impurities to the drain. It then returns to “Operation” mode and supplies your home with clean, soft water.
Unlike most ordinary softeners, regeneration in the WaterBoss system uses the counter-current method, which significantly reduces water and salt consumption.
Construction
The ion-exchange resin in the WaterBoss is tightly packed between two polymer screens with 20-micron cells and an area close to the column diameter.
This prevents the formation of stray, stagnant pockets of resin that would go unused during the softener's operation.
Aquaphor WaterBoss - a universal device combining a self-cleaning mechanical filter, an iron remover and a water softener.
Its unique compactness, modern design and high performance mean the Aquaphor WaterBoss can be used even in spaces without a specially dedicated area.
A range of technological know-how has been used in the product's construction, enabling more efficient use of the softening sorbent and a shorter regeneration (self-cleaning) time.
